Shared Stories Campaign
Shared Stories is a social media campaign developed in response to a brief from Torrens University to create a mental health campaign for students. The campaign aims to reduce the stigma around seeking support by sharing authentic stories of students navigating mental health challenges while studying.
I wanted the campaign to feel human, inclusive and relatable rather than clinical. I developed a series of stories featuring students from diverse backgrounds, including First Nations, LGBTQIA+, disability and mature-aged students, with the intention that the campaign could continue to grow through stories shared by the wider student community.
The campaign has three key objectives: normalise conversations about mental health, encourage self reflection, and make accessing support simple. Alongside the student stories, I developed a self check in quiz and focused the campaign's call to action on Torrens University's free counselling service. By directing students to one clear starting point, the campaign avoids overwhelming them with information while connecting them with further support.
Visually, I combined photography with soft pastels, collage and hand-made elements to create an authentic and approachable aesthetic. The mixed-media style reinforces the personal nature of the stories and helps the campaign stand apart from more clinical approaches to mental health communication.
